Safe as Houses

Grumble grumble, Its been a tough week again, what else is new, frustration has to be the word for anyone putting up with equities.
No wonder everyone's preoccupied with domestic real estate.

I can't believe the amount of people I talk to who have borrowed money to buy domestic real estate, to put in their Self Managed Super Fund.
Explains the heat in the market, god help you if your a first home buyer.

But you can understand investors frustrations, the last 7 years has been a very difficult time if you have come through the GFC, lost a heap,  and trying to rebuild.

Term deposit interest rates are low and continue to fall, and look like remaining low indefinitely.
your not going to retire on 2 to 3% unless you have a heap of cash, not many of us in that boat.

If you take out the banks, equities growth has been dismal in Australia, where the US has been quite strong.
Couple that with the prospects of our iron ore miners, and the companies trying to survive supporting them,
Through in a few stories like the Myers result, (which probably wasn't too bad)

And you can see the attraction of houses!

But we have some excellent companies with great prospects, so will concentrate on finding them and buying, hopefully be proved right in the long run.

Give me any of the companies below, for potential capital growth, compared to a house, that you might return 3 or 4%!
Hard to see house prices or yields being sustainable.

Has to be a Red flag for Real Estate prices,  and "The Banks", which now have a huge stake in this asset class.
