5 prime ministers in 5 years, what a performance!
Hard to find a country with that sort of performance!
Well surprisingly not!
Italy has had 42 prime ministers in the last 50 years, so we are only just in front of them on a averaging basis, we will have to move Turnbull on fairly quickly to maintain our momentum!
The real issue now is that our Westminster system of Government is now probably due for some "refurbishment".
None of us get very excited about the US system of presidential democracy, but at least they get 3 years, and that has to be a bit of a stabilising factor.
Like it or not, the fact that we have had 5 prime ministers in 5 years has to be a sign our current system is no longer working, and maybe we should look at a republic, and at the same time put in some mechanisms that give us some certainty of longevity of elected representatives, so some stability can be restored.
I am now quietly amused by my previous ramblings of the importance of Knighthoods on this blog, pre empting our current circumstances.
Did Turnbull give him the idea!!
